I love these bags, hope they’re successful. However, the federal government is being very hard headed.

    I generally like the idea too but I think beyond damage to wildlife, etc., It still also promotes this culture of single use items which produces additional waste and a consumerist/ignorant mindset of manufacturing products. However, reusable bags also make an impact on our environment if we aren’t constantly using the ones we have (and I know I’m guilty of forgetting mine at home occasionally). But it also promotes being more actively mindful in carrying reusable containers and products, which hopefully translates to more environmentally friendly behaviours (which has led me consistently carrying my backpack and using water bottles/travel mugs a majority of the time).

    It’s really hard to tell in this case which is the better choice, but for now I think having people actively practice better environmental behaviours might be better in the long run.
