Depends on the state. In many states there are no “hate crimes”. They are enhancements to other crimes. When they catch the person and charge them, that’s when you’ll find out. The 1st amendment allows you to burn books but you can’t do it to intimidate people on a protected class. I think burning religious text makes you a garbage person but that’s me.
