Source: www.bleepingcomputer.com – Author: Sergiu Gatlan Google has started automatically blocking emails sent by bulk senders who don’t meet stricter spam thresholds and authenticate their messages as required by new guidelines to strengthen defenses against spam and phishing attacks. As announced in October, the company now requires those who want to dispatch over 5,000 messages daily […]

Link to source article. The linked article steals the text and images verbatim.

I like how the article even says it’s stolen.

There needs to be some communication method that is STRICTLY opt-in. As in: Tanya sends a message to Jim, Tanya isn’t on Jim’s contact list, the message does not arrive. It is not sent to a spam folder. He doesn’t get a notification of “one unauthorized message.” It just says “Send failed.” Where spam, scams etc. are not possible by the very structure of the platform.

There’s a ton of options like that. Two examples:

      • signal - requires approval of connection request
      • simplex - must scan a QR code for contact, no open directory whatsoever

Both do a good job of solving this problem, the main issue, like everything, is adoption.
