I want to take back ‘Retard’. Because I want it to apply to things that are infuriatingly stupid, instead of it being used as a derogatory term towards special needs people.

“Okay”
It doesnt mean yes. It means “i heard you”
People use it incorrectly
It came from having fun with “all correct” spelling it as “oll korrect”, going to OK. That has an affirmative connotation and I expect it was used in that way from the start. I can’t see it being used as “I heard you”.
Absolutely. This guy seems confused.
Now that I thought about it, I think I heard about a region in the US where people take it as “I heard you”. But that’s the change.
I can’t think of a context where people use “Okay” to mean “Yes”. When do people typically use it incorrectly?
“will you go with me to the store?” “Ok”
My experience is that ok is used 50/50 for yes or I heard you
Boss: “TheDoctorDonna, please go take the recycling out.”
Me: " Okay."
