Pierce Brosnan is your favorite Bond actor?
That’s the actual shocking part
Mine too actually!.. I guess not anymore. Might have something to do with playing hundreds of hours of 007 nightfire as a kid.
Ew night fire? Not golden eye?
Not everyone is a kid during the same era, now go drink your Ovaltine!
(Golden eye was better for sure)
Nope, my progression was NES > PS2 because I was poor. I missed out on a lot, though I got to play my friend’s N64 a few times.
For me it was the world is not enough
He’s the one whose movies were in theaters in the 90’s and early 00’s. (Personally, I’d go with Dalton.)
That is so much of what drives people’s opinions I think. My favourite bands are still the ones that I found when I was in highschool and college. Some of them were current and otherwise.
If I had to pick a favourite bond actor it would be Brosnan because he was bond when I was kid.
I have to remind myself of this when something gets remade. It doesn’t mean the first one was good, that was just what my nostalgia reminds me of.
Not saying nuance doesn’t exist, but for things that people don’t really think about, nostalgia is powerful.
Was
Who would you go for
connery is more charming, moore is more earnest and craig got to star after they stopped writing scripts where the female leads had names like Hellacious Vag
Fun fact! They only changed that because of Austin Powers. In fact Austin Powers almost killed the James Bond movie franchise entirely because the satire was so on point.
Invisible cars, bad CGI and nonsensical plots were killing 007. AP just highlighted that.
Lmao yeah it was another time another time
That smile…
Probably Roger Moore
Fair that was apparently fleming’s choice. I’ve always been partial to a spot of Tim dalton tbh. I always felt roger Moore was the saint first and bond second somehow but yeah good choice good choice
I did like Timothy Dalton, but I feel like he wasn’t in enough films to really get to know him in the role lol
David Niven only voiced by Rich Little.
Thank you. I was about to ask for those of us who don’t follow actors, who that was
It was a drive-by fruiting!
Will always remember when I was playing multiplayer GoldenEye in college and one of the guys said this as he was killing Bond (complete with accent)! RIP Robin.
Wait what brosnan endorsed that guy? Man he always seemed like a reasonable sort of chap. ☹️
Hey wait a second… That’s not Garbage! Garbage just did the theme song for one of Brosnan’s Bond movies.
The World is not Enough
The song and the music video are pretty banger. And Shirley Manson is a legend / queen.
If you like Garbage’s stuff and you love Shirley Manson, then oh boy check out Stephanie Cheape and Queen.
It was as if it was made as a love letter to Garbage
I kind of hate you, you posted a very good recommendation just to find out that her last single is from 2021.
I guess thank you anyway !
Yeah it’s a bit of a weird one, her star was rising pretty quickly at the time that came out - all over the Scottish media, seemed destined for bigger and better things… and then there wasn’t any new material and she seems to be enjoying herself on TikTok now.
Good on her - would have liked to have seen more tracks off her though.
Hmm not a bad shout
Good share! Thanks. And, yes, absolutely.
It was actually my favorite one up until Writing on the Wall came and snatched the title.
Yeah… I stopped having a favorite “actor-who-played-a-personification-of-rapacious-British-imperialsm” when I realized that they were acting as a personification of rapacious British imperialism.
Dude had nothing on Michael Scarn anyway.
You are the worst assistant ever and you’re disgusting, Dwigt.
“The Garbage Man Can!!!”
I can’t believe I can still remember that song, but it’s what immediately popped into my head upon seeing this image.
How is RFK Jr racist?
Better question:
Who is RFK Jr. and why should I care?
Until right this instant I never knew the guy existed.
I’ll post here to request this information as well.
Why, do your memories and Google not work?
There’s a lot more to go into beyond the most recent and obvious, but it involves his deliberate targeting of the black community with misinformation and a discussion of historical usage of Great Replacement theories, historical dogwhistling, and other kinds of nuance that someone asking honest questions might be interested in.
" I have never, ever suggested that the COVID-19 virus was targeted to spare Jews. I accurately pointed out — during an off-the-record conversation — that the U.S. and other governments are developing ethnically targeted bioweapons and that a 2021 study of the COVID-19 virus shows that COVID-19 appears to disproportionately affect certain races since the furin cleave docking site is most compatible with Blacks and Caucasians and least compatible with ethnic Chinese, Finns, and Ashkenazi Jews"

Yep, that’s what a lying racist who doesn’t know what he’s talking about sounds like when he gets called out.
Yeah. In the original clip he only mentions Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese (nothing about Finns). He was shoehorning a conspiracy theory into conveniently chosen facts.
Obviously racism = bad.
But genuine question: why is it so common that old and historical figures are judged on modern day ethics? It seems logical to me that if we base people’s past beliefs and actions on present standards that we should judge present beliefs and actions and future moral standards. At least until we can arrive at an absolutely perfect moral standard that will exist all through time. But this seems irrational to me. My rephrase my question: what is unethical about living your life to the best moral standards you can (which is defined and limited by the knowledge and culture of your day).
He endorsed RFK Junior.
Also, there have been plenty of people throughout history who lived in “ignorant” cultures who weren’t racist, misogynistic, etc.
Being afraid of the unlike is natural. Overcoming that fear, makes you civilized.
Remember, during American Slavery there were groups of people who were against the racism and slavery during that time…
It may not have been a massive movement but still.
It’s not modern thinking
I actually completely agree with your perspective and also have no idea what you’re talking about. Is Pierce Brosnan the historical figure in this scenario?
RFK
My personal completely unprovable theory is that when the Qanon crowd was getting excited about JFK Jr returning as a zombie to lead them to the promised land it got started from a discussion about RFK Jr and somebody made a typo that the rest of the clown show latched on to.
Or maybe they just didn’t know the difference. Being clowns.
