Hey I know shitjustworks and lemmy.world are being defederated from beehaw but can we get an official list that gets updated when there are other instances that are being defederated?
It would help navigate the fediverse a lot.

Why is “skinheads.social” banned? Seems like a run of the mill LGBT kink subculture community to me.

You are probably correct that “skinhead” can be used in that sense. But you are incorrect that this instance is for and by nazis. Did you actually read their page? They say they are a LGBTQ+ friendly community with an interest in the skinhead kink. I can disclose that I am a kinkster myself and have been in contact with people like this and they are in no way shape or form nazis.

I simply do not have the time or desire to find out whether an instance which uses the word ‘skinhead’ in their website url is actually lgbtq+ friendly or is using this as a preface to troll.

If someone calls themself a skinhead in person im not gonna wait for the asterisk before i tell them to fuck off and cut contact.

                Nazi punks fuck off.

" skinhead, youth subculture characterized by aggressively masculine hair and dress styles, including shaved heads and heavy boots. In many countries skinheads are commonly viewed as extreme right-wing nationalists or neofascists who espouse anti-Semitic and other racist views

The racist skinhead movement in the United States has entered its fourth decade. Since the first skinhead gangs surfaced in Texas and the Midwest in the early 1980s, this racist and violent subculture has established itself in dozens of states from coast to coast and has authored some of the country’s most vicious hate crimes in memory, from arson to assault to murder."

I mean that’s your choice to make, but I think it’s very immature and not to mention dismissive of the fact that the person in question could just be a gay man into bleachers and boots. Your comment does not seem constructive.

Then I think you are doing a pretty bad job at being unbiased and fair to people who have not done anything wrong, but are simply wrong by association.

we have literally hundreds of things to do per day to keep the site running. we do not have the time to personally litigate and check whether literally every instance or group on our defederation page–which is using a Tier0 blocklist, to be clear, we explicitly picked the least rigorous one–is “actually worthy” of being there. we’re fine with the possibility we may accidentally exclude people because we don’t 100% vet the blocklist we use. you are free to take umbrage with that but simply put: this is a backburner issue at best.

I mean, I understand that. I apologize. It wasn’t my intention to make it seem as if this is a super important issue that should be resolved right now, it was just general constructive criticism from my side, and when met with the blanket statement “these are nazis” I felt like elaborating and arguing further to get my point across.

I take big issue with misinformation, that’s all. I hope in the future you can get enough support to tackle this kind of problem.
