It doesn’t work unless I download a third-party app which forces me to use Always on Display. I want it to blink at me whenever there is a new notification from any app. Importantly, I want it to show that my phone is charging. I don’t want to use Always on Display because it defeats the purpose of the LED.

That’s the app that I deleted because it was redundant. It didn’t blink when the screen was off, only when Always on Display was on. I don’t want that, I only want the light.

That is not how the app works for me.

I get the blinking feature as soon as I get a notification, without the screen turning on.

Yes, I was very much disappointed with Samsung for killing the notification LED. I loved that feature on my S2, S3, and S6 edge. But for me, the third party apps do work.
