Thinking about creation an account for my child (9 yo) on my laptop. Question: is it a good idea to create a windows child account (with an email from MS) or I should better provide a fake age and create “usual” account or I should try to a local account only?

Asking because when I created a google child account for my another child it was over-limited like he was not able to start youtube and some other a bit crazy limitation. Moreover, there was no way to release these limits at all.

Hi , so I will assume that you want a child account so your kid doesn’t visit or download websites he is not supposed to right? Well with a simple local Microsoft account would be enough just to setup a NextDNS and block adult websites easily. You can also block your kid from trying to overcome this by not letting him download any VPN or proxy.

Not really, currently my child uses my account to watch youtube some typing training sites etc. I also consider install a minecraft. So, control is not the driver, I simply want to give him a separate account.
