I’m loving it so much. Last night was the most fun gaming night I have had in years. Quickplay is working for the most part for me too. It usually still fails 3-4 times before it will connect. Also, I started solo and sent an SOS beacon and had 2 players show up very quickly, so that is an option too if anyone is having issues with quick play

I feel somewhat bad for the people that want it and enjoy PvP games. But selfishly, I’m glad to see this because I’m sick of every fucking game “needing” PvP and inevitably forgetting about its single player experience. About time one studio didn’t cave and broke the cycle in their game.

Looking at games like Halo, Call of Duty, Rainbow Six, Grand Theft Auto… All used to have a fantastic emphasis on the single player experience until they began catering almost exclusively to the online multiplayer experience. And not necessarily because it is a popular request among some gamers but because it drives profits sky high through Twitch, etc. popularity and micro transactions galore. But the games become so boring when you’re up against professionals who do nothing but play the game all day, every day, and you have zero chance at ever having a fighting chance. And most of these games enable laziness in the developers and the studios behind them.

Call of Duty at least releases a new game almost every year but the gameplay is always last year’s gameplay rehashed with a new skin/flavor. The rest haven’t released a new title in years except some updates that only benefit the PvP experience. I don’t even check Halo Infinite anymore because there are never any updates to anything but some multiplayer bullshit. GTA VI is the exception but it took them over 10 years to get the next release in the series and they canceled all offline DLC for the last game in favor of PvP bullshit.

The beauty of being PvE is it allows them to have multiplayer and still drive forward an overarching story for the whole community. We are all contributing to the world together and experience it together. I am so surprised by this game is the best way possible. I can’t recommend it enough to anyone. Also, PvP is such a competitive market. My favorite part of the Division wasn’t the dark zones, it was playing PvE with my friends (until the enemies got too spongy at higher levels, that is)
