    • Brush: Maggard 24mm Synthetic
    • Razor: Baili BR179
    • Blade: Wilkinson Sword Classic (1)
    • Lather: Barrister & Mann - Diamond - Soap
    • Post Shave: Spearhead - Seaforth! Heather - Toner
    • Post Shave: Goodfellow & Co. - Face Lotion - Kelp & Sea Mineral

There’s some sort of ball game tomorrow in the USA so I packed a Ball themed soap for this trip. I like Diamond a lot.

I haven’t used this razor in forever. It’s the TTO Baili. Apparently it doesn’t pair well with a Wilkinson Sword Classic. Pretty tuggy, but fortunately a close and comfortable shave. I don’t have other blades to try. I packed the Wilkinson because they come in a travel dispenser. I guess I could have loaded the dispenser with some other options, but Wilkinson Sword usually work well.

Yes, I heard there is some sort of big game tomorrow. I have a big OLED TV that I bought for streaming movies and watching Formula 1. I guess I’ll see what this ball game stuff is about :)

The Wilkinson Sword blades that are made in Germany are among my favorites.

I have a nice OLED TV at home, but the channel with the super bowl is blocked by a big hill, even with the antenna mounted on the roof.

I stream everything else, but sports is still an antenna game for me.

Either way, we’re in Texas this weekend so I’ll watch the commercials on whatever I’m sat in front of!

  • Saturday, February 10, 2024: Lazy Saturday

I have been lazy this week – I didn’t log my shaves from Tuesday or Wednesday. Nothing special to report today – just that I got myself a Dovo Barbarossa Inox razor, and I have to put it to the stones before using it.

    Have a good weekend!

Nice photo! I have a 109 made in my birth quarter. I guess it’s good that it’s not one of my favorites: it should stay in excellent condition for a long time!

To be fair, it’s not that I don’t like it, it just has a lot of razors to compete with.

    Flowers!

    • Brush: Stirling Soap Co. Zenith Boar Brush 31mm × 50mm
    • Razor: Dovo 41 Inox
    • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. Witchy Woman
    • Aftershave: Southern Witchcrafts/Shawn Maher Gravefruit 2
    • Fragrance: Chatillon Lux Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli
    • Talc: Pinaud Clubman Finest Powder

u/kind_simian’s discovery of the secret behind his favourite Stirling scent reminded me of some of my lesser used Stirling scents. Witchy Woman is a fruity floral scent that I bought for my wife in the early days of joining the hobby in the hope to draw her in, too (That failed and she still doesn’t use any of the nice wetshaving gear she has access to). Combining it with Gravefruit and YRP was more fun than I expected.

The Dovo is turning into one of my favourite razors. It’s not as fancy as my 14s, W&Bs, or Bökers, but it feels like a rugged tool in comparison, and it’s replaceable. Both the blade and the scales are stainless steel, so I just worry about it less that when using a 160 year old carbon steel blade in brittle horn scales.
