We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

Maybe you’re new to c/stopdrinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!

I was panicking that I forgot to post it today! I keep waking up in the middle of the night so I’m doing it then and then I forget I did it 🤣

Haha, well I’m super impressed with your consistency. It might get quiet from time to time but I’ve learned there are still people here, and I and others as well I’m sure, all appreciate the effort you put in!

And it’s nice to have our little bond here. The other mod Spacebar does amazingly beautiful woodworking. You can see it in that group. Woodworking.ca I think. Not our instance, a different one.

When someone does a regular post it’s amazing how many more respondents they are here. At the same time, the Checkin on Reddit gets about 700-800 upvotes a day out of 500,000 in the group so proportionately the same. And I love being able to respond to everyone. I hosted the Reddit Checkin for a week last summer before I became a mod here and it was was overwhelming with that many responses a day. They asked me to become a mod but I declined. I am determined to help lemmy thrive. 😁
