Yeah, it was very slow to take off, hard to get a grasp of who was doing what to whom and why (which is important because later the plot hinges on your understanding more than on what is seen), and then the season ended abruptly.
It’s much better if you can watch both seasons at once, because it does get MUCH faster and far more entertaining. It’ll never be a 10, but I thought Season 2 was a good 7.5 to 8, if you’re into that genre.
Season 1 with no follow up was blah at best; I wasn’t even going to watch Season 2 but then I was sick one day and said what the hell, and it ended up being a great binge. Especially when you see a Puck walk and you’re like, oh shit, that’s Ron Desantis, lol.
Not the person you were talking with, but it definitely didn’t help that Carnival Row halted production for like 3-5 years between seasons, but the ending was pretty satisfying and the series was really cool but sad overall.
I never saw Battlefield Earth (and people tell me I’m better off for it) but I know what you mean.
He reminded us of the Pucks from Carnival Row walking, but yeah. Those cowboy boot lifts . . . Streisand effect PLUS looking ridiculous, lol.
My brother and I thought it would be funny to watch but it’s a real slog. It’s biggest issue is how boring it is.

Perhaps you meant to reply to something else. I was talking about the John Travolta film.
Oh shit. No. I was talking about Carnival Row. Apologies for the confusion, which was apparently all mine, lol.
Haha. We’ve been meaning to return to Carnival Row anyway so when we finally get to season two I’'ll know what you were talking about.
