I am thinking about using SOCK5 or htttp CONNECT proxy from rethink dns firewall app as i am not running any other vpns is it safe does it have any downside or upside ? Like is it privacy based and secure meaning that i am not inbiting an extra set of eyes to my internet using ?
What do you mean by safe? What is your threat model? What kind of compromises are you worried about?

Those proxies aren’t encrypted in any way, even if it’s one with user/pass authentication access. They’ll obfuscate your IP from other users, such as torrenters, but there’s a risk your ISP will still see unencrypted headers between you and the proxy.
Why not use DoH or DoT instead? At least those are encrypted by default.
Do rethink have that option ?
