“I am calling for clarifying legislation to be adopted in accordance with our State Constitution that prohibits satanic displays in our Capitol building and on all state owned property. I am calling for legislation to be adopted that makes it legal to display the Ten Commandments in our Capitol, in all buildings owned by the state, and in our public schools.”

That a single, continuous quote from a state representative. In two back-to-back sentences, they said that the religious display is unconstitutional and it should be legal to have a religious display. Amazing.

‘My religion is constitutional, yours is not.’ Not that amazing, just typical American Christian.

Christian Nationalists don’t think of this as our country. They think of it as their country.

Everything about them makes sense with that one axiom.

Nah I’ve met some really decent Buddhists that don’t have much inclination to force their beliefs on you.

Have you lived in a Buddhist-majority country though?

I also know plenty of Muslims who don’t try to convert anybody. But I live in a non- Muslim majority country.

Only the Old Testament, but only the parts they project onto others. These troglodytes don’t realize that you can no more separate the devil and god than you can separate night from day.

Yes. It is. Fictional concepts can be separated (and clearly are, for some) and to blithely claim otherwise is to underestimate the power of stupid. So, don’t be ironic at your own expense.

If you insist on being pedantic, tell it like it is: you are your own god, and you are your own devil. That’s the point.

It’s less about being pedantic and more about maintaining vigilance against bullshit arguments from the religious: they can and will differentiate between their favorite comic book god-thing and the opponent created simply to mirror its deific status.

Bet that if someone destroyed the Christian display they’d be charged with a hate crime and not just criminal mischief.

i said it was witty, although i may have buried the compliment in my own contempt for the whole exercise, but that has nothing to do with you personally.

sorry, i didn’t mean to be rude.

Vandalized after a Evangelical priest radicalized an idiot with an unhinged social media rant.

lets not forget about the string pullers, and don’t let them avoid blame for what the puppets do.

Dude couldn’t leave it alone for 2 weeks, 10 working days. The duration of the permit to have the display there.

How long before he starts a go-fund me to pay his legal bills and starts a podcast to get the grift into high gear.
