    Why is it harder for a black man to buy a house today, when he is theoretically richer because he doesn’t have to give up his money to the man you described?

    In that same time GDP produced per hour worked is up over 4x what it was then. There should be more to go around for everyone.

    As for women in the workforce, having twice the income earners should double the household income. But two people can’t buy what one person could back then.
