    This whole fiasco was just ridiculous. Even if the victims of slavery had a minor handful of positive effects on their lives from what happened, it in no way makes up for the huge quantity of monstrously horrendous things that happened to them and their descendents.

    It was the same feel as forgiving the Nazis for the Holocaust because Hitler remembered to brush his teeth each night, and Goebbels always remembered to look both ways when crossing the street. In the end, does that even make up for even one quintillionth of all the harm and murder? Not really.
