These Canon FD lenses are sorely underrated, IMO.
One of my first systems was a Canon AE-1 P with the 50 f1.4 SSC lens. Loved the images I got from that (esp. on film) but I’ve grown out of SLR cameras. I just recently got an FD-M adapter to shoot an FD 85 f1.8 on my Leica M-P 240. It’s a relatively compact lens for an 85. So sharp and creamy and beautiful.
As a new A-1 owner, I’m glad they are! I was able to snag a beautiful 28mm f2.8 for ~$60.
I’ve been really happy with how sharp these lenses are so far.
