I am a 21 year long user and I still learn new things almost every day. If you’re the kind of person who gets off on bashing your head against a wall all night and after almost giving up finally solves the problem and gets a huge burst of euphoria from it like a drug, then Linux is definitely for you.
I don’t tend to sugarcoat it like a lot of other established users, I am not going to lie to you. You WILL encounter this at some point ;)
To be honest, running Linux has gotten a lot more boring over the years. Which is a good thing!
Yeah, it’s nothing like back in the early 2000s hoping and praying you don’t have to sit there and hand-edit XFree86 files by trial and error, that is if your graphics chip/card is even supported. Basic VESA mode didn’t even work for a lot of them.
Edit: oh yeah I completely forgot about dependency hell too.
I guess it’s the right time I started using linux then lol

Have you found Linux adoption easy? Have there been any significant roadblocks?
Other than being annoyed about not knowing how to switch instances quickly like alt+tab on windows, not really. The potato I’m using used to take 10 minutes to boot on windows 10 and I’m glad I got rid of those waiting times

Lmde with plasma is great, I just switched last weekend.
Had a weird issue on cinnamon that maxed out my GPU way too fast (Intel igpu), but it doesn’t happen in other DEs, so I just went back to plasma.
I also cried internally when I saw Doom (“classic”) running at my Linux distro for the first time.
Just you wait until you find out you can (almost) break the OS yet still make it work.

I won’t spoil the whole thing for you, but a couple system-related things can be “masked” (i.e disabled) ending up in a half-functional system (i.e lots of error messages, loading times increased due to it but still functional.).
