I believe that’s actually a Kiwano, also referred to as the Horned Melon, or the African Horned Cucumber. Durians are huge, and a different color. You see these a lot in Star Trek. Sometimes they’re spray painted a crazy colour.
Also, leola root is just spray painted ginger, I’m pretty sure

You’re right. My bad, it’s the other spikey weird fruit.
I think I’ve also seen jackfruit used. They certainly look like they could be some sort of Klingon food. Or weapon.
