        I think you’re right, I seem to remember him reading it (the recycled newspaper part), and then goes “hmm Xiao ping zao died” or something

          But doesn’t this happen when he’s already on the mountain, and the Powersauce guys are trying to convince him to turn back? That’s when they open up and tell him the truth about the bars, and admit it’s made of recycled newspaper.

          But the picture from OP is in the Kwik-E-Mart, in the beginning of the entire saga.
