I have lost tons of socks. Once I started doing my own laundry, I made sure my socks stayed in my own laundry cycle and not the family pool. Did not lose a sock again. Though there were a couple close calls where I almost left a sock behind in the dryer (or in one case, the washer, because it stuck to a wall somehow.)

I blame my dog.
