I have a better question to you. Why do you think it is the war they took sides in and not the personal suffering and unique tragedy of the personnel who get involved in it?

People seem to way too easily get into this binary tribal behaviour and it seems to get exacerbated by the effect of reddit.

Dont fall for it. Yes, both sides are suffering. Yes, I find it preferable to support Ukraine militarily to WIN the war, and Israels eradication of the Hamas strongholds, while upholding hope for Russian and Palestinians peoples freedom from opression.

Well I was wondering about the wording, and, as it turned out he copied the article of another source. The using of the word Palestinians and berating someone for picking up the gun of a fallen soldier sounded weird from someone who often posts very graphic videos of the Ukraine-Russian front felt a bit of key.

So I explained that I didn’t want to pin a tribal affiliation, but wanted to know the thought behind the words used. Turns out that he didn’t consider the words at all, but is more about sharing moving (and often explicit) videos

I fully subscribe to what you say in your last paragraph.
