I’ll be honest. I don’t know much about finance except for trading stocks and options. The only advice I’ll give related to that is do your own research.
I thought I made it really obvious, but I guess I’ll spell it out explicitly: @DeadlineX@lemm.ee was making a joke, telling you to diversify into covering other things also called mint, like the finance app this comment section is concerned with.
I thought it was pretty funny. 🤷
It seems @Kazumara@feddit.de did as well. I was trying to keep within the context of the general thread where everyone is joking about mint being one thing or another. When the commenter before me said you should diversify, and you asked for suggestions, I thought it’d be an opportunity to suggest something else from the original thread.
The thread is about Mint, the finance app owned by intuit. I found it an amazing callback, but they can’t all be winners!
Generally when you have to put in that much effort to explain the joke. It was a bad joke. I don’t see comedians explaining their punchlines in three paragraphs.
That’s pretty fair criticism. Got any suggestions?
Might I recommend getting into the budgeting space?
Like finance budgeting?
Yeah, you could open with a feature on the budgeting app Mint perhaps, you know before it goes away at the end of this year.

Oh a joke. Aren’t those usually funny?

Everyone but you got it, I don’t think the issue is with the joke.
You seem pretty motivated to prove it’s funny. Why is it so important to you?
