Nope, I’m on unlimited and happily paying for it. I love Proton and the features it gives me. Way more value to me than trash like Netflix or Disney+

It’s a nice all-round solution for a lot of privacy focused services. For me it’s worth the money.

We aren’t rich. You’re used to enjoying free products from companies like Google, who harvest every bit of the data from you.
Or from a developing country. That’s why I asked for the context in which Proton is too expensive. Getting all the services separately, doing E2E encryption manually etc. is probably cheaper but less convenient.
Expensive compared to what? Compared to the price of a coffee? Compared to the price of your privacy? Compared to your disposable income? Compared to competing services?

Agreed. Even Android feels like a 2nd class citizen at times. There are obvious bugs that have never been fixed in core features. That being said it’s still worth it and I’m glad to be supporting them fund future development.
I suppose it all depends on what you want and what value you place on it.
I am doing the $120/yr unlimited, so that is $10/mo for me. Same price as some streaming service and I use proton a lot more than I do them.
If you find no value in the other features like proton pass, drive or calender, then yeah, maybe it a singular service would be more attractive.

Ehhh, depends on where you are, and what the typical income is.
For me, my crippled ass is on a fixed income, so it’s way more expensive than I can handle for something that I’m the only one that could use it.
But the price itself is realistic for someone with decent income in the US overall.
