I forget where I went but I ordered an iced coffee and I received what was essentially a sippy cup. My initial reaction was what the fuck is this I’m not a child. But quickly i realized the significance of eliminating the straw. Aside from straws. What are some other areas where you think plastics can be eliminated?
Stop using dildos. More plastics in dildos than in straws. I bet the left would rather give up straws.

Unless you’re like superman or something, you can’t chew on metal straws
They could easily be removed from glasses, shoes, cups,clothes , containers.

This is the answer.
The biggest place I use straws is for to go food or food I’m going to eat in the car. I’ve yet to see a cost effective replacement for the convenience provided by a straw in that situation.
