Lots of love for Undead Girl Murder Farce in this thread. I think I will have to check it out. Like you, it’s not a genre I usually am into, but executed well, mysteries can be very engaging (just that most aren’t). Also, if I haven’t dipped a toe into Love Live before, would that impact my experience with Genjitsu no Yohane or are they separate?
Aside from mysteries Ungirl also has very fun and interesting characters going for it, as well as interesting directing during dialogues. A lot of the anime is characters talking and it’s never boring, because of these two factors.
I think it’s helpful to watch Love Live Sunshine beforehand to get a feel of who the characters are and how they relate to their Genjitsu no Yohane versions, but maybe Genjitsu is okay watching on its own?
