      Perez being so shit last season cost RB $17 million. They probably made more from Mexican sponsorship deals, otherwise it wouldn’t have made sense to keep him on for the entire season.

    Whenever I start feeling sympathy for Ferrari I just remember the “historic” bonus. All that undeserved money just to disappoint their fans every year!

        Yup. They’re the only team to have contested every season of the F1 World Championship. When Bernie set up the Concorde system, Ferrari demanded special consideration because of this status, or they threatened to leave F1. Bernie considered Ferrari integral to the allure of the sport so they get an annual payment off the top for simply entering.

        Basically back in the day Bernie was like we can’t have F1 without Ferrari, so yeah they get money just for rocking up.
