I agree the plot is mediocre, but it stays mediocre through the end. Moana just drops off a cliff after the second act. I can’t remember anything significant because nothing significant really happens in terms of resolving the story arcs. Of course, this is just my opinion.
Moana drops in the second half big time. Frozen remains pretty consistent and subverts the princess falling in love trope.
I kind of feel like Frozen makes no sense and is a loosely contrived plot wrapped around what they knew would be a hit song.
