When I joined Lemmy during the Reddit exodus it felt like a new breeze and very positive. It feels like this has changed, posts and comments are more negative. Lots of complaints, even positive news posts receive a lot of negative comments. I am always trying to see the positive in things. Just doesn’t feel fun anymore. Perhaps it’s just me though.
Also still mainly see technical posts, lots of Windows/MS bashing. I’d like to see more communities about non technical things. Perhaps I haven’t discovered them.
I suspect someone must have posted a link to somewhere like truth social or thedonald, because the negativity and trolling happened all of a sudden on all servers
It literally went from common sense to stuff like “Trump isn’t at fault” seemingly overnight.
Really happy I’m on Beehaw at the moment, because, I can’t imagine how bad the less restrained servers are
That’s quite bizarre, because the commenters I’ve come across in political subs have been rabidly anti trump.
It’s kind of fluctuated up and down again I guess. I use Beeshaw, so I’m kind of in a safe space. No idea what its like on others which maintain full federation. But there was definitely a few days where I saw lots of comments which were bad… but these days, I have been mostly avoiding those convos anyway
