Wondering if there’s value in an Australia wide community as well? Some stuff just doesn’t fit so well under 1 city

There’s definitely more activity here. I wonder if it would be better to create a new one here just so it can be properly moderated if needed. Last activity over there was 2 years ago.

There are some newer posts over there when sorting by ‘New’, I have no idea why the ‘Hot’ posts are so old with no activity on them though.
I agree that we should either have a new community here or add a link to the other community in a sticky / server sidebar note so that we can have more general discussion somewhere.
I vote make one here. Makes sense to have all Aussie forums moderated in one place.
Yeh I also reckon it makes sense to have it here from a moderation sake and also just more easily findable, at least until there’s some better ability to merge across different communities

Sort of a shame Lemmy does not have a merge function where an instance could merge all the communities on the same subject together
Yeah I’m hoping that comes soon, user manageable merge lists so I can deal with nice.place/c/Australia and fun.people/c/Australia but not echo.chamber/c/Australia
