I think people should live their life and don’t protest about one thing or another. Just be trans or be straight or be whatever but don’t protest and annoy people.

Privilege to exist without being targeted, harrassed, or threatened. Anyone who says “I don’t see the point, everyone should just be chill and live” or some shit has never experienced bigotry or othering. Then the second you point this out, white people be like, but that’s not fair… now you’re targeting me 😭😭 even though they are experiencing a fraction of a fraction of that in an online space compared to living through it every day of their life.

Going to tell people to just stop being black around police and telling gay people to go back into the closet if they don’t want to be harrassed?

People talk down on me for my physique cause I’m new to the gym, talk down on my for how slow I work on the job site, etc etc I’m a builder in Australia.

I don’t think those are the reasons.

“The world is cruel” is a reasonable argument, but misses the point. A political party is actively supporting the cruelty, which is what this post is about.

Dressing or acting in a way that is outside of cultural and social norms is going to get a person more attention, we can’t dictate if they attention will be positive or negative.

Well this is certainly wrong. If it is a social custom to harass women who dress scantily with violent threats, but you pass legislation against harassment, and get the police to actually police those behaviors, you are actually going to influence the social norms.

On a less antagonistic level, don’t let society hold you down. Wear what you want to wear, honestly people on average just will not care. People build up stuff like that. Even as a cis het man I’ve worn stuff from ahego shirts to full pink outfits out and about. No one cares and people will compliment your style usually. And those compliments will mean much more because it speaks to a more genuine version of yourself. Sometimes you just gotta wear some shit you like or makes you giggle. You won’t notice how cool people are until you peacock it out. No one’s going to compliment or shit talk a Tshirt and jeans but people will definitely be genuinely into what your rocking if it’s weird.

Nobody is trying to push you towards transitioning. Protesting for trans rights is simply about protecting trans people from discrimination. What your saying is the equivalent of “I don’t support gay rights because I feel like their existence pushes me to be gay.”

If you blame the world for your problems you will never surpass $1,000,000 in net worth.

          I guess, technically.

But also, if you don’t blame the world for your problems you will never surpass $1,000,000 in net worth.

You just will never surpass $1,000,000 in net worth.

Yeah, you definitely won’t. It’s pretty attainable for everyone I see - every house is worth over $1,000,000! and all my neighbours own theirs, some are 2-3 million dollars with beautiful hillside views. so what are you doing wrong?

LGBT+ people are literally being murdered in the U.S. on a regular basis for just being who they are. And then there’s the suicides. And then there’s their rights being taken away. And you think they shouldn’t complain about these things because you’ve encountered “casual racism” which is apparently okay because it’s a joke (Trump often uses that excuse when he says something atrocious, by the way).

If only one side would let others live their lives, rather than try to kill them for existing… 🤔🤔🤔

I gotta ask - is it fun demonstrating a critical meme in real life? I see so many of you who can’t help but pipe up on posts like these, I really do wonder…
(this is rhetorical, I genuinely couldn’t give two shits what transphobic “enlightened” centrists thinks)

Don’t protest? How do you expect any change to happen without action from the people. Do you believe movements like Civil Rights would have succeeded without protest?

Hey, I am just a curious sort of person, so I was wondering, do you think there’s any cause that’s worth protesting?

If you’ll humor me a little bit: say completely hypothetically (and ridiculously) that there was a political group who, for some reason or another, absolutely despised people named Austin and wanted to get the legal right to arrest anyone they found named Austin out walking in the streets. The bill they’re currently championing would allow them to legally beat, arrest, and imprison any Austins that happened to be discovered in public, and you also discover that there’s enough support for this bill to have a chance at passing. Do you think, in this weird, nightmarish scenario, you’d be willing to protest against this bill even if it caused you and others some sort of inconvenience?

If we had equality, everybody could just be trans or straight or whatever, and there wouldn’t be a need to protest. Unfortunately, that isn’t the world we live in.
