So, he’s Doom from another timeline / universe where he’s not(?) Tony Stark but Victor von Doom, a genius inventor who creates a suit of power armor to rule over a small country with high tech secrets (Wakanda/Latveria) and there’s no Stark in that universe, it’s just a What If remix merged into the MCU main timeline?
They just said he’s Doom, didn’t say anything about being Victor Von Doom.
OR they pull the Chris Evans/Josh Brolin card and don’t even acknowledge that “hey this guy looks and sounds an awfully lot like Tony Stark” unless Deadpool is on screen.
I mean they set it up in Deadpool & Wolverine so the timing of this announcement was perfect.
