      Well, in software terms, an alpha version is the barely existing framework on which one builds until it eventually becomes a finished program.

      So, with that in mind, I’d call them very Alpha - barely removed from monkeys, hardly able to even walk upright shells of humans.

      But, if they keep learning, maybe they’ll become actual humans someday. Even though they don’t exactly look like they’ll make it there anytime soon.

        Seriously, I’ve seen these guys even back when I was in college. Loud, obnoxious, opinionated, and with poor fashion sense.
        I guess all the other guys in the photo are the betas? There can only be one alpha, or so our poorly-researched understanding of pack animals goes.

          Such guys are commonplace in every college. They act very silly, are ignorant and annoying creatures overall. The ‘beta’ guys are just paid by the ‘alpha’ guy to stand by him. He becomes a stranger to them the moment his dad stops giving him any money. Then the betas go in search of a new alpha whose dad lends him both pocket-money and an old blazer.
