what’s that from
Requiem for a Dream (2000). A harsh, but enlightening movie about addiction. One of those you can watch once and need not ever again.
I watched it on acid because I thought it was just some drug movie so good to watch while tripping right? I had to go sit on a bench in the park for a good hour at like 3am after I finished.
Seems you came out on top of the situation.
Great movie, but also fuck that movie.
Ayys to ayys
I had a friend who would watch this movie over and over. She said it was her “favorite movie”
I later found she was a little messed up in the head.
Hope they’re ok.
I hope so too
We stopped talking after she got herself stranded in a different city to manufacture a big crisis where people had to rescue her from south central LA at 2AM. She said it was a mistake but we later overheard her bragging about how she did it on purpose to get attention.
Jokes on him I’m immune to validation
You are, and we’re very proud of you for being so resilient 😘
I’ve received so much that I’ve built up natural immunity. They hyped me up and now I regularly fail expectations, and when I do I cannot be consoled.
So yeah, the comic is right: external validation can fuck one up.
This just reminded me of something I saw the other day. Walked past the same guy both directions on a quick errand and he had a bunch of passports laid out on the sidewalk. I didn’t stop to inquire, but it seemed pretty clear to me what was going on.
