I’m confused at the republican position on Jews, either they are evil and control everything or we are not doing enough to help them…

It’s almost as if they don’t actually care about them and are just using them as a political pawn.

That and the evangelical wing needs needs all the infinity stones in Israel or something so Jesus can be rebooted and kick off Final Crisis.

Some of the nutjobs think their crazy eschatology requires Jews in Israel so that the character of Jesus can come back, condemn most of the Jews to hell and let the xtians watch all the unsaved, Jews included, suffer for all eternity.

I mean, it is so obviously the dream scenario for total psychopaths (what kind of damaged mind imagines watching others suffer agonizing torment for eternity as a reward?), but these people will simultaneously say it’s all about LOVE, and about their superior “morality”, mannnnn…

I mean, wasn’t the modern state of Israel invented at least in part so antisemites would have a place to deport them to after it became gauche to kill them?

You had very fine people on both sides” - Donald Trump, after neo-Nazis marched through the streets of Charlottesville shouting “Jews will not replace us” while one of their own ran over counter-protesters with his car in August of 2017. Full transcript via Politico

I mean, I absolutely will be ashamed when I vote for Biden in November.

Ashamed that the best this supposed bastion of democracy could offer up for me to choose between are:

    • The oldest person ever in the running for the job who makes everyone hold their breath he doesn’t do something addled each time he’s in front of a podium.

    • A guy in several criminal cases at the same time who tried to overthrow the government and is simultaneously beloved by conservative Christians trying to ban books on sex while having had sex with a pornstar who he said reminded him of his daughter.

    • A guy denouncing modern science who admitted that he had a worm that ate part of his brain and died.

There’s a lot to unpack there, and pretty much all of it makes me feel shame, irrespective of my ethnic background.

I mean, if there was one thing to learn from Democrats, its that trying to browbeat/ shame voters into voting for you doesn’t work.

He’s not trying to get their vote. He’s just trying to convince enough of them to not vote that he can win.

No one expects you to understand it, but if you’re talking about how people typically respond to the ideology that not voting is how you create change- the logic and reasoned responses you’re interpreting as “brow beating” is never intended for you.

It’s for the potentially uninformed people on the fence listening to your nonsense.
