Is Xi a dictator, though? I’m not an expert, so I will defer to someone who is.
This is the kind of comment I have not seen on Reddit in 6 years. A link to an expert that breaks down the general gyst of how China governs and how its people feel about it. Definitely a 6 minute video worth watching.
But the US officials who leaked the news of Beijing’s rebuke of Burns noted that Chinese state media did not publicise the diplomatic note, known as a démarche, seemingly to preserve the goodwill created by US secretary of state Antony Blinken’s visit to China.
The way that’s written, kinda makes me feel all kinds of weird.
China Diplomat’s Private message: “Dude, that wasn’t cool.”
US Officials: “Imma gonna blast this all over Social Media!”
Exactly how a dictator would react.
And how would a non dictator react?
Just based on the comments I’ve seen on these types of posts (and most certainly owing to the smaller community here), China/Russia posts are going to have some spicy discourse.
Immediate improvement over the weird anti-Chinese sentiment on Other Site
(This also has me wondering about demographic data for the fediverse, because part of the issue with Other Site was its overwhelmingly American userbase and therefore predominantly USA-centric discussion)
