All things I was incredibly hype for new stuff. All incredible let downs with some more than the others.
Star Wars - Pretty much all previous games and books got retconned out.
Lord of the Rings - Started with the Hobbit and has been downhill since then.
Halo - Halo 4 was okay but everything after that basically changed everything about the lore.
Heroes of Might and Magic - Favorite game as a kid but Ubisoft ruined it and doesn’t even make them anymore.
Turok - The reboot is so far from the original they could have renamed the character and just called it something else.
Thief. How the fuck did they mess up such a beautiful game.
Turok I love but it didn’t have a super strong identity to start, so I can see how it went off the rails. Although re-playing 1 and 2, I was surprised that I actually prefer 1 after all these years.

Yes, and maybe if they’d taken more style inspo from it, the later games wouldn’t have gone off the rails.

Quite literally the current state of Star Trek.
The future of humanity is supposed to be a post scarcity utopia where people don’t care about material gain, or at least where material gain isn’t the goal anymore, but the current writers have been trying to… reduce that idea.
Several characters, Seven of Nine specifically, have been regressed rather than developed. Turned into something shallow.
Command and Conquer, EA killed it.
Fallout. Look what they did to my boy. We could be getting a Baldur’s Gate 3 style fallout, but noooo. Todd had to go and screw it up for everyone.
Todd ruins everything he touches. The only exception being Morrowind. And I have my suspicions about his actual involvement in that.
