So where I live there is a hill which is like this. I climb it on my bike quite often. The cars are dicks to bikers. They just assume the bikers will stop and move out of their way as they barrel towards them. It really sucks since the rest of the city has great infrastructure separating bikers from cars.
There is a road near me where the “protected” bike lane turns into a car turning lane. It’s as bad as you would expect. I don’t know how municipalities think they can trust dumb asses in cars around bikes, when they continually show an inability to behave appropriately.
They’ve never biked before and they assume we are exaggerating.
I dont road bike at all, because I live in the country and would probably die, so I just do mountain biking. Can’t commute by bike anyways.
