Wow, what a non-apology from Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) chief Persida Acosta. Hindi sya sorry dun sa ginawa nya, but she’s saying sorry for “the circumstances”?
The circumstances in question:
Acosta’s remarks had to do with her request for the high tribunal to remove a provision on conflict of interest in their Code of Professional Responsibility and Accountability (CPRA), which governs the conduct of lawyers in private and professional matters.
It might have been better kung hindi na lang siya nagsalita at all. So, ano ito? Sinasabi nya na “sorry kung balat-sibuyas kayo ah”?
But thankfully, I guess, she has further demonstrated her (lack of) stature, not just as a lawyer, but moreover as a person, with that statement.
