Title + As I dont have a G account signed in they cant track me as a person and I also turned diagnostics data sharing off. Will it be help they might track me a as person on this device.Right?? Also as to quit google I have to quit internet so will it be advantageous to do this thing.
I know about custom ROM without google (Actually everybody know 😅).But I am not interested I think I have arch setup on PC then why wasting time on setting up mobile when I am never gonna use it that way I just wanted a bit freedom BY some tweaking some settings but now I think google is far more dangerous than U can ever think of
Have a nice day,Namaste.
Gee… maybe you can still find a Nokia 3210. Long battery life, no Google services. I use my phone without a google account just fine. Were i to care more i’d use a custom ROM. I just might, warranty’s expired anyway. What does arch on desktop have to do with android on mobile?
Even if you did run it without a Google account, in order to even use any phone with Google services you’re required to accept the Privacy statement; of which tells you that they are allowed to collect basically any information they want regarding what you do, so it will be linked to your device ID not a Google account but they will still be collecting information on you it just won’t be linked to a Google account will be linked to a device identifier much like how it currently is with an account
Will they be able to assign that data to my name.
Yes. They will be able to sign that data to your name (and home address or usual residence).
It is possible to disrupt your digital fingerprint to keep Google from assigning that data to your name…
But realistically, Google succeeds in assigning each person’s digital fingerprint to them, for the vast majority of people, who use stock Android, the Chrome Browser, have cookies enabled and don’t use a VPN 100% of the time.
possibly if they can ever link you using another metric such as logging into an account that has your name, they can then link it to your advertisement ID. I know Meta is able to do that since that’s how our corporate intranet works on it so I expect it’s in googles capability
The hardest part is getting away without using google services. Tons of apps depend on it especially google maps. There are ways around this, but they don’t always work.
At least MicroG helps a bit
If you sniff your network, you will notice whenever your network changes (wifi or data, doesn’t matter) android will send tracking data to firebase servers, so you can receive push notifications (even if you didn’t opt in to any). also your DNS is probably set to googles DNS, so they can see any domain your device looks up (most apps will at least try to ping something, so google will know when you used them). also Android will try to test your connection quality in order to display an exclamation mark or so in the status bar. depending on version, it will be using further google services for that.
What can we do without rooting
Use rethinkDNS, basically it’ll use your VPN slot and will set a custom DNS of your choice+filter lists. It has more features tho like wireguard integration.
Without rooting, you can switch to Firefox, install an add blocker, and use a VPN set to an exit node in Europe or California. Alternately, live in Europe or California.
I’d probably think about switching to Graphene OS at that point
