    The decision to suspend the Co Mayo teacher followed his objection to former principal Niamh McShane’s direction in May of last year for teachers to address a transitioning student by their chosen name, and his publicly voiced opposition to that direction at a school event in June 2022.

    If you liked me and don’t know what’s happening. The guy just seems like a religious nut job.

      Yeah he and his whole family are religious crazies. They’ve in the news for a while now for making a big fuss over the most ridiculous of things.

        I do have to push back on that point bc I don’t think it’s very fair to the reality their experiencing. They’re not doing it on purpose to hurt kids, they’ve just been brainwashed into thinking that it’s somehow unnatural for us to make modifications to our bodies.

        The good news is these people always get shit on and autonomy generally wins out. People probably called surgery the devils work too when that was first a thing.

      The writing seems fine to me but I’m Irish and familiar with the case. There’s an assumption of that familiarity in the writing (it’s been in the news here for a long time) so coming in cold it’s definitely going to read a bit stilted.
