      22 percent of Democrats said they found the killing acceptable, compared to 16 percent of independents and 12 percent of Republicans.

      Funny how the pro-gun party suddenly doesn’t like it when the victim is a CEO rather than school kids.

        GOP hasn’t been pro-gun since before you or I were born. Just because they block (some) of the democrats dumbest gun-laws doesn’t make them pro-gun at all.

                That’s not quite true: they selectively block gun control measures. For example: they put through the Mulford Act, a gun control measure, because black activists started arming themselves.

                Named after Republican assemblyman Don Mulford and signed into law by governor of California Ronald Reagan, the bill was crafted with the goal of disarming members of the Black Panther Party, which was conducting armed patrols of Oakland neighborhoods in what would later be termed copwatching.

                Both Republicans and Democrats in California supported increased gun control, as did the National Rifle Association of America.

                They’re less “pro-gun” and more “we should have guns”, and I think that difference is important to emphasize in liberal society.

          That’s an interesting take when the NRA can literally schedule a meeting with Trump or other presidents the next day. And which “dumbest” laws are you referring to? You mean things like not wanting people showing signs of mental instability to be able to run out an buy a gun as soon as they’re released from the hospital? Maybe you don’t like the idea of that short waiting period the first time someone buys a firearm? Perhaps it was the law that didn’t allow children to purchase guns (requiring parental consent)? I mean yeah, I can see how the non pro-gun GOP must have been appalled at those ideas.

          Also, for curiosity, can you tell me what gun legislation the GOP has NOT blocked?

            1994 “Assault” weapon’s ban, 1986 “FOPA” Act. That said pretty much any gun-control law that try’s to get around the 2nd amendment is “dumb” and supporting those kind of blatantly unconstitutional laws should get you banned from federal office for life.

    Acceptable, sure. I do not care that he’s dead. But it seems unwise on Luigi’s part to throw away your life to kill one CEO who’s going to be replaced by someone just as bad.

      The thing i dislike the most about luigi is that he got caught when he was almost certainly should have gotten away. But maybe the trial will be some kind of transformative re-interpretation of self-defense or something (I doubt it).

      In a vacuum, yeah trading out anything 1:1 is a generally naive and unsustainable strategy.

      If, however, we use the context of socioeconomic class warfare, it is a brilliant strategy for the working class to trade 1:1 whenever presented the opportunity. Due to the sheer population advantage they have.
