That’s over 434 cars per day.
And if there was downtime that daily quantity would have went up to achieve that total. That is just incredible for someone fairly new to the market.
That seems pretty insane. I wonder how the sausage is made and what the secret is to hitting these numbers immediately after opening a brand new factory in a market that you’ve never operated in before. I’m sure a lot has to do with poor working conditions and lots of money being pumped in by the CCP, but it’s still staggering to see.
Or you know, hiring people that know what they do. Instead of reinventing everything from “first principles” like musk likes to say
Well, considering other new companies like Rivian can only produce half these numbers and other longtime companies like GM also struggle to hit 1/3 of these numbers, I think there’s more to it than just hiring the right people. In 3 years, Xiaomi has gone from “Hey, we should try to build a car” to producing 100k cars per year.
It only takes xiaomi 76 seconds to make a su7
Not quite accurate. They produce a car every 76 seconds but it takes them longer per each individual car.
That article is pretty rad and it’s impressive how quickly they’ve been able to put this operation all together in just a couple of years.
The frame casting machine is especially cool
The machine creates the rear floor assembly of the Xiaomi SU7 and reduces 72 parts that previously required stamping and welding down to just one die cast part which can be produced in 100 seconds.
