Capcom: “We still like Mega Man we just have no idea what game to make with the character”

fans: “a new Mega Man Legends or just a remake one of the old ones - we’ve been saying this for years now”

    Capcom: “we have absolutely no…idea…what…so…ever…”

Why not any of the cancelled ones from right before Inafune left?

If I remember right, that’s at least Megaman Legends 3 and that Megaman Infinite/Ultimate online game right there.

Do something with user created levels again like Megaman Powered Up. Make another Zero title, because IntiCreates made Gunvolt, as a spiritual successor, significamtly more complex. Continue the X series with something that isn’t a mobile gacha fest like Dive was. Make another 2D metroidvania like the ZX games. Give the old 2D games the Powered Up treatment, or the 2D X games the Marverick Hunter treatment, instead of more emulation packs. More Battle Network or Starforce.

There’s so many ways they could go with this and make money. Come on Capcom, just do something!

Q [english] Please tell me what plans you have for the Mega Man series.

A [corpospeak] Mega Man is one of our highly-valued IPs and we are considering how to create games for it on an ongoing basis.

    A [translated] None whatsoever.

Capcom is really weird. They’ll pump out Street Fighters, Resident Evils, Monster Hunters, and Phoenix Wright games willy nilly. But then you got franchises like Dino Crisis, Okami, Viewitful Joe, Maximo and Mega Man…all of which are games fans really want and they’ll say “yeah you don’t want those games but we’ll tease said games for years and years to keep you on the hook”

And it can’t be a sales issue. Mega Man 11 was the best selling Mega Man game of all time. Fans WANT a Mega Man game and they’ve even told them what they should make. Just make a Mega Man Legends 3 and it’ll sell. But Capcom won’t do it.
